After speaking, he immediately hung up the phone.
Briana put down her phone and, thinking that it was also her fault that he had a car accident, took a deep breath before walking into the meeting room.
"The meeting ends here today, and will continue tomorrow."
As soon as the words fell, George spoke sarcastically, "It's better to be a CEO. You can have meetings whenever you want, stop whenever you want. Unlike us, even if we have a hundred thousand urgent matters at hand, we can only put them aside to attend a meeting!"
Briana glanced at George and raised an eyebrow, saying, "Mr. Landry, if you can't speak properly, then shut up. If you have the ability, pull me down from the stage and become the president yourself. That way, I will also cooperate with your schedule."
George's eyes flashed with anger as he spoke indignantly, "Ms. Schneider, your recent work attitude has been evident to everyone, as it has caused delays in several projects of your company!"
Briana smiled and raised an eyebrow, saying, "If I remember correctly, only the project you submitted was rejected, the rest of the projects are progressing as usual."
Upon hearing this, George's face immediately turned extremely ugly. He slammed the table and exclaimed, "Ms. Schneider, since all the shareholders are here today, I want to ask you why my project was rejected. What is the reason behind it?!"
Briana remained calm and said, "There was nothing wrong with your project itself, but MY doesn't have that much initial funding now. What MY needs at the moment is not a high investment, high return project, but a steady and cautious progress."
George still wanted to say something, but Briana didn't give him another chance and walked out of the meeting room quickly.
When Briana arrived at the hospital, it had already been an hour.
Maxim's face was so gloomy that it seemed like water could drip from it. He coldly looked at Briana and said, "It only takes half an hour to come here from your company. Why did you come just now?!"
Briana rolled her eyes and said, "Don't I need to organize the work in my hands? And don't you know there might be traffic on the way?"
Maxim looked coldly and said, "Didn't you say you were working as a janitor in MY? Besides cleaning, do janitors have other tasks?"
Briana was choked for a moment, and then she lowered her head and started tidying up without saying a word.
Just as she was tidying up, Maxim spoke up.
"Dr. David told me that my leg might not be able to be cured, and I would have to rely on a wheelchair in the future."
Briana paused in her actions and then said lightly, "Once the other injuries on your body are completely healed, then we can figure out a way to treat your leg."
"Well, as you should know, I had an accident on my way to notarize the divorce agreement."
Upon hearing this, Briana put down the clothes in her hands and turned to look at him, asking, "What do you want to say?"
"Before my leg healed, you moved back to take care of me."
Briana frowned, "No, I have my own job. I can hire a caregiver for you."
Maxim sneered, "Don't worry, it won't delay your work. Just take care of me before and after work every day."
After hesitating for a few seconds, Briana finally nodded and said, "Okay."
Now Scorpion has set her sights on Maxim. It is best for her to stay with Maxim as she can promptly detect any danger.
Maxim didn't expect her to agree so easily, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.
"Also, I won't divorce you until my leg is healed. Otherwise, once you obtain the divorce certificate, you might just leave."
Briana glanced at him lightly and said, "I got it."
"Briana, why were you so easy to talk to today?"
Briana ignored him and quickly packed up her things. After she checked Maxim out of the hospital, she returned to Glamor Villa.
Because it was inconvenient to move the wheelchair, Briana temporarily cleaned up the master bedroom on the first floor for Maxim to stay, while she planned to stay in the adjacent small bedroom.
Maxim couldn't help but frown, "You live next door, how can I call you if I have any problems at night?"
"Just give me a call."
"What if you fell asleep and didn't answer? We have to stay in the same room!"
